Gempita Lunar New Year Nurtures Hope and Belonging at LPA Guna Nanda

In the spirit of sharing and social care, the Indonesian Inspiration for Building Foundation (YIIM) together with Insight Investments Management are again carrying out a series of Gempita Imlek activities as part of the social religious pillar. This pillar aims to contribute to the celebration of religious holidays in Indonesia, as well as providing a meaningful space for togetherness for people in need.

The Chinese New Year Gempita activity was held on Saturday, February 7, at the Guna Nanda LPA, which is located on Jl. Tambun Rengas RT 12 RW 01, East Cakung Village, Cakung District, East Jakarta. LPA Guna Nanda currently shelters 38 children ranging in age from 2 to 27 years, who come from various walks of life. Among them, there are 6 children with disabilities who also receive assistance and care at this institution.

On this occasion, YIIM distributed basic food assistance as a form of support for the daily needs of children under the care of the institution.

Not only focusing on providing assistance, Gempita Imlek is also designed as a space for reflection and emotional strengthening. YIIM invites children to reflect on themselves through conveying hope and sharing stories. Children write down their hopes – about themselves, the future, and the dreams they want to realize – which are then attached to the Hope Tree as a symbol of motivation and reminder of the life goals they want to achieve.

Through this sharing session, children are invited to listen to and strengthen each other. This activity is part of efforts to strengthen peer support groups, to create an environment that is supportive, full of empathy and mutual trust between fellow children.

Through Gempita Imlek, YIIM believes that care is not only realized through material assistance, but also through presence, attention, and a safe space to foster hope. It is hoped that this activity can have a positive impact and be a small step in supporting children’s growth and development towards a better future.

Salam Inspirasi!
